Most women do not like the thought of aging. Wrinkled skin, aging bones, weakening joints. . . that just does not sound like too much fun, not in my opinion, nor in various other women’s opinions. I mean, who wouldn’t want to stay a strong, sexy, flexible twenty-something-year-old? While, everyone will age, some won’t age gracefully, and some will. Ever wonder why some people age more gracefully than others? Well, you need water. Lots and lots of water. It is not only the best hydrator, but it is the “elixir of life”. “The amount of water in a human body ranges from 50 – 75%. The average adult human body is 50 – 65% water, averaging around 57 – 60%. The percentage of water in infants is much higher, typically around 75 – 78% water, dropping to 65% by one year of age,” (Helmenstine, Ph. D). Therefore, if we are born basically as little earths (the earth is made up of 70% water), we, much like all life on the planet, need water to survive and to stay young and sexy.

“What if they’re right and you’re wrong?”

To build more cells, we need more water. To have joints that bend without causing pain we need to lubricate them with water, much like oil lubricates your back, for a smooth and calming massage, that does not leave chaff marks. So, how much water does a person need to keep those joint loose and our cells full?

The amount needed varies from person to person. A few factors determine how much water a person needs to drink day-to-day, they are: your health, your activity level, and the location in which you live all are tell-tell signs. The Mayo Clinic suggests that Women need, 9 cups or 2.2 liters, while men need, 13cups or 3 liters a day. They say “beverage,” but we are concentrating on water, so let us continue. That is more than the 8 x 8 rule, which is eight 8ounce glasses of water a day. Wait. . . was that a rule or a suggestion?
